Sunday Muse: Agnes Martin
Light is sometimes so bright, you think black is white, and when that happens, you think you've found the truth about black, laughing as black reasserts itself, for it can never be the same black it wants to be, again. This is a kind of meeting: where two worlds meet. Agnes was like these two worlds.
-Richard Tuttle on Agnes Martin, 2011
We love the permanent Agnes Martin exhibit at the Harwood Museum in Taos, New Mexico. This particular space was designed by the artist herself to show her work - the skylight is constantly changing the way her work is lit, adding an ephemeral and chimerical quality to the experience.
